Michael is just a very, very big kid!

Most people think play is just for kids.  Not us…we think adults (or big kids as we like to say)  should be encouraged to play too.  So we like to host events and gathering that inspire playfulness and creativity in everyone.  Somewhere to go and learn awesome things, but also to just relax and play for the sake of playing.  Our events feature ways to play that are awesome for the mind, body and spirit.  They usually (okay, always) involve playing with lots of toys (see very long list below!) Beginners, experts and anyone in between will leave with new experiences, new skills and new friends.  And if you just want to relax and enjoy a beautiful day, well that’s okay too!

A Little History

Since 2005 Try Out Toys has hosted eleven SphereCamps in three different states, two SpherePlay Days and one Buugeng Immersion.  When we first started producing events, it was all about spheres and sphereplay.  Then it grew to usually having over 20 “Play”shops on at least 12 different toys and skills lead by inspired and talented teachers.  Now, friends, SphereCamp has evolved into PLAY Immersion – a weekend of immersing ourselves in the spirit of playfulness and sharing with our community.

Many, many thanks to the talented Sensei Strange for making this video of SphereCamp Texas 2008.  This was the first year we held the event at the Recreation Plantation and it was the last year that temperatures rose above 50 degrees!  We are definitely looking forward to the warmer April weather for PLAY Immersion 2011!

We hope you will join the fun as we endeavor to think less and play more!

Connecting and playing, learning, sharing, teaching, performing and silliness too…
