Youth Programs
active play + skill toys = happy kids
When we PLAY together we make the world a happier place.
It’s really true, playing is good for all of us.
It’s how we become creative problem-solvers and innovators.
It’s how we can live in the moment and remain youthful.
Our PLAY-4-ALL Youth Programs engage kids in open-ended play that exercises their bodies, minds and spirits. Using skill toys as our tools, we speak a language kids naturally understand…PLAY!
Students get super excited when they learn things like…
tossing a DIABOLO 10 feet in the air and catching it on a string!
rolling a SPHERE down their arm and balancing it on their elbow!
spinning and balancing juggling STICKS!
JUGGLING 3 or more balls!
Why SKILL TOYS?
Each student can learn at his/her own level and because each student improves just by playing, there’s always more to learn.
Engaging in cross lateral movement better conditions the brain for learning by strengthening the same neural connections that the brain uses for reading, writing, and math.
Learning Skill Toys integrates academic, social, emotional and physical development through Active Play.
Skill Toys are people-powered, no batteries or computers needed, just get up and play.
Why ACTIVE PLAY?
Encouraging youth to develop playfulness (for it’s own sake!) as a life skill is the core of our Youth Program. Research in psychology and neuroscience is showing that the kind of open-ended, self-directed active play that skill toys offer is essential for positive cognitive and emotional development.
Youth need physical activity as a daily part of their day. The kind of active play we teach about gets kids moving and they can see immediate results.
With concern about childhood obesity on the rise, active play with skill toys is a great way to introduce movement and also encourages positive body awareness. It’s accessible to just about anyone regardless what kind of shape they are in and it’s just fine if they’re not an athlete.
